Description
list the major aspects of your Retreat you would like to bring forward (make it concise)
Set in a peaceful and sub-tropical natural environment 3-minute walk to the Mediterranean for a daily dose of vital healing ocean ions, with swimming, coastal walks, and natural beauty, we provide you with a chance to de-stress, unwind, relax, and re-vitalize as you connect to the beauty and healing power of nature, as well as a safe and supportive space to go deeper into yoga and meditation so that you can truly surrender, let go and find the space and peace within.
Another special and important part of feeling your vitality is combining yoga and detox with excellent treatments which we offer through our top practitioners to aid in the detox and lymphatic drainage process, as well as for relaxation, which will dramatically improve your health and your immunity.
The venue and location are perfect for healing through nature, the ocean, sunshine, total relaxation in the lush gardens and pool, and other activities if you prefer more action, like coastal walking, mountain hiking, cycling, beach activities, and many more, as well as strolling through the vibrant and beautiful old town of Denia, with its castle and amazing cuisine.
Individual attention, care, and support are given to each participant and are highly valued by our team to give you the best experience. We provide only top-quality teachers who give their all. This is also an opportunity to discover the teachings of yogi Vanda Scaravelli who wrote the well-known book "Awakening the Spine", and was taught by BKS Iyengar and Desikachar and who went on to develop her own yoga teachings.
We provide only top quality teachers who give their all, and on this retreat the main yoga and meditation teacher is Karen Ingman who teaches hatha yoga inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli, so this is an opportunity to discover the unique and profound yoga teachings of Vanda Scaravelli who was taught by BKS Iyengar and Desikachar and who went on to develop her own yoga practice and teachings and wrote the well-known book "Awakening the Spine". She will also be teaching yin and restorative yoga on the retreat.
Our aim is for your enjoyment and transformation, and our vision is to share the philosophy of open heart, transformation, and surrender through yoga, meditation, and nature, as well as a gentle detox (see below), still with 3 meals a day and a healthy lifestyle, and applying these in your daily life when you leave!
Balance is the key. You are not forced to attend all classes but obviously, this is encouraged to feel the amazing benefits of yoga, meditation/chanting, an enjoyable gentle detox, swimming in the ocean, fresh quality air, hiking, relaxation, and the experience of Denia and Spain also!
Each day starts with meditation/chanting followed by a yoga class of 2 hours, in the morning and then again in the early evening for 90 minutes. On the day off for relaxation or activity, there is a morning meditation class, and breakfast but lunch and dinner are not provided. The restaurants near the venue along the coast are excellent and so is the cuisine in Denia. This is an opportunity to enjoy the local Spanish food.
Individual attention, care, and support are given to each participant and are highly valued by our team who also offer excellent treatments to complement your yoga and gentle detox journey: Chinese medicine: acupuncture, herbs & nutritional consultation with the core energetics bio-resonance program which finds nutritional deficiencies and other health imbalances; cranio-sacral treatment; wholistic massage; Thai massage.
This retreat also provides guests with a gentle cleanse of the body with healthy fresh vegetable and fruit juices and vegan food prepared with love and based on healthy nutrition, but without side-effects, which, put together with yoga, meditation, coastal walks, hikes, and ocean swimming, is in my humble opinion, the best retreat to be on!
You cannot get a better combination! Through our experience of health and well-being, this is the best way to destress, rebalance and revitalize oneself, leaving feeling totally transformed and energized. With locally grown superfoods your body is alkalized, removing toxins and inflammation, which leaves you feeling revitalized and inspired to continue with a healthier lifestyle.
Healthy vegan food is prepared and cooked with love and variety for breakfast, lunch, and dinner - 3 meals a day. Gluten-free and nut-free options are available and most dietary restrictions and needs.
Water with mint or lemon, herbal teas, tea, and coffee are available throughout the day. but we encourage you to drink water and herbal teas only after breakfast.
One rule we do have on the retreat is SILENCE between the hours of 10 pm and 10 am.
We encourage you to go to bed with lights out by 10 pm in order to be in the natural circadian rhythm of our planet earth, which facilitates feeling refreshed on waking, however, this is not a set rule.
We also encourage you to take time out from your phones except when absolutely necessary! The effects of having time out and being present are amazing so try it!! One effect is we detoxify physically and neurologically!
There are plenty of activities in the Denia area: Do not miss a stroll through the lively streets and markets of Denia with its creative style of terraces, shops, cafes, restaurants, and buildings of historical interest. Leading off from the main streets, explore markets, the Plaza del Convento, the Church of Iglesia de San Antonio, and more.
Overlooking Denia on a hill above the town is an ancient castle, where you can discover towers, monuments, an Archaeological Museum, and great views out onto the sea and surrounding area. And if you love food, UNESCO recently awarded Denia for its delightful gastronomy!
