This retreat aims to produce a holistic experience away from the everyday rush of the modern world.Wake up and watch the sunrise from behind the mountains while you enjoy an energizing yoga class in our beautiful yoga shala on your personalized retreat.We finish every class with a guided meditation.In your yoga classes, you will learn to listen to your body - giving your body what it needs. Your teachers make sure to modify for different levels of practitioners so that everyone can have a safe practice, offering two 60-minute classes per day.After our class, we gather on the main house deck to sip Kola Kanda (a local health drink), while we look out over the views of the Knuckles Mountain Range.As breakfast begins, we come together to begin our day with an array of local and western dishes.
Welikande offers mainly plant-based foods, and can work with many dietary restrictions, just let us know!After breakfast, we get ready to depart for our daily activity or if you simply want to relax in a hammock all day, we have hammocks set up overlooking the valley and lake. Lunch is included in all activities.In the evening we join together again for a relaxing sunset yoga class, overlooking the lake as the sun sets over the mountains, which offers an incredible array of colors.We meet again for a family-style dinner, with an abundance of dishes...and of course dessert. Let us know when you're full because the food doesn't stop until you are satisfied! You will never go hungry here at Welikande.
We end our day together in the yoga shala for a beautiful Yoga Nidra session, also known as Yogic Sleep. We make sure that you go to bed feeling relaxed and at peace. It starts with a prolonged body scan, to release tension and hold in the body, followed by a guided visualization for the healing of the heart, head, and body.Often affirmations are used to reinforce the healing. The meditation and yoga Nidra sessions take you on a journey to understanding the mind and help you release mental and emotional blockages.We will take care of your body with yoga, hiking, and healthy food and take care of your mind with meditation, Yoga Nidra, and quiet time in nature.Guided Art activities and creative practices will be shared. You will have the opportunity to paint with a local professional artist. All of the activities are included in the package...Or if you want to simply relax in one of the hammocks overlooking the lake, that's pretty perfect too!
