It is said that thousands of years ago, 13 yogis from India (each practicing their own style of yoga) came to Bali to practice on the top of Mount Watukaru, also known as Batukaru Mountain.The spiritual energy of Bali (the Island of the Gods) inspired the 13 yogis, who took the best of their own yoga practices and created Balinese Yoga. They gave it the name Balinese Watukaru Yoga to pay tribute to the beautiful mountain on which they practiced together.Beauty, grace, spirituality, and strength are some of the stunning features of traditional Balinese Watukaru Yoga. It focuses on the mind and one's spiritual awakening, hence the emphasis on meditation and the inner flow of energy in its practice.
