During our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training, we ask participants to embrace all aspects of the yogic lifestyle, such as observing a vegetarian diet, living free from the distractions of other substances (including alcohol and caffeine), and moving away from technology and unnecessary communication with the external world.Each day carries an intention, a spiritual lesson, that we explore throughout the day. We begin each morning with sunrise meditation, followed by a 90-minute asana practice and a nourishing yogic breakfast. The days are spent learning yogic theories and healing practices through workshops, classes, and group discussions.During this time we discuss the fundamentals of yogic living, including yogic diet, anatomy, meditation, cleansing practices, pranayama, Ayurveda, and the ancient wisdom of the Yoga Sutras. Our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training also includes other methods of healing, calling on not just the physical and mental elements but also the more subtle forms of healing work such as earth medicines, energy healing, and shamanic journeying.
We also share the fundamentals of intelligent sequencing and explore alignment and adjustment of poses in depth.We share the Art of Teaching and Art of Touch, during which students will learn to teach two asana sequences, the Mystical Hatha Flow, a slow, meditative, Sivananda-based practice, and the Mystical Vinyasa Flow, a more intense, breath-synchronized, and fluid flow.Students will explore proper asana alignment and adjustment of poses in-depth as well as the key to intelligent sequencing. This forms the solid foundation upon which students can step into their unique teaching ability as a teacher.Each evening we come together with Satsang, an evening gathering, which may be meditation, kirtan chanting, or a sacred ceremony.We ask students to come with an open heart and mind, ready to see and to receive all that is out there.

During the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training program you will:
Work through the traditional Peruvian Shamanic Medicine Wheel in a process of self-inquiry, discovery, and personal transformation.
Learn to teach two Asana sequences: Sadhana Vinyasa and Sadhana Hatha flows, as well as guidance on creating your unique sequences.
Live the yogic lifestyle, deepening your Sadhana, personal spiritual practice.
Incorporate daily Meditation, Pranayama, and Asana.
Explore the Art of Teaching through interactive daily workshops and learn through peer-teaching starting day one.
Participate in daily Satsang, evening gatherings. Learning traditional Kirtan chants from India and the rest of the world.
Participate in traditional ceremonies: Full-Moon Ceremony, New-Moon Ceremony, Letting-Go Ceremony, Traditional Andean Gratitude Ceremony (despacho), and/or Cacao Ceremony, and other traditional ceremonies.

Every 5th day is an off day. There will be 3 days off during the training 200-hour training. Upon completion of our course, participants who demonstrate our skill competency and complete 200 hours of classwork, will receive a certification for completion of the curriculum. This will enable you to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).

Our dedicated and loving onsite chefs cater 3 delicious vegetarian yogic meals each and every day, using local and fresh ingredients. Our chefs are inspired by the tropical paradise that surrounds the centre, they utilise the extoic produce creating hearty and nourishing breakfasts, nutritiously balanced lunches, and a sustaining evening meal. We are able to cater to dietary requirements such as gluten intolerances, vegan, and nut allergies. Within the context of SYI yoga teacher training courses (YTTCs), we share our understanding of the ancient teachings, through the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, Upanishads, Tantric Yoga, Mayan Prophecies, Greek Mythology, and Lao Tzu’s Tao Te Ching, as well as modern spiritual teachings of Eckhart Tolle, the Dalai Lama, and others. How to get there by PLANE
You can fly into San Jose International airport (SJO) in San Jose, Costa Rica.
Once you arrive, it is a 4.5-hour journey to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa by bus/shuttle.* If you fly from SJO to Tambor Domestic Airport (TMU), in Tambur, Costa Rica.
From Tambor Airport it is much faster (35 minutes) to get to the resort. SJO to Tambor flights are facilitated by Costa Rica Green Airways or Sansa

Inka, the name coming from Peru, means the Child of Sun, which describes this yogini well. She is enthusiastic, energetic, allowing the sunshine upon her, reflecting light, happiness, love, and gratitude in her everyday life. Yoga has been part of Inka’s life for over six years and it has changed and transformed her life. “Yoga has made me mentally stronger, emotionally more steady and flexible and fearless both on and off the mat.” Inka completed her RYT 200 in Shanghai, China (Body & Soul Yoga) and RYT 500 in Peru with School Yoga Institute. She is a world traveler having practiced, retreated, and workshopped all over the world, which has inspired and influenced greatly her teaching style, which is evolving continuously. Inka has been teaching for three years in various countries including China, Finland, and Costa Rica. “I love when cultures collide, especially in yoga.” Teaching in different countries has given Inka a foundation and deeper understanding of the cultural differences within the yoga scene and also the differences in body types. She teaches in English and Finnish using Sanskrit in calling asanas. Inka is following her Dharma, her life purpose of sharing love and light through yoga. Vinyasa Flow is her soul practice, and her flows are strong and creative. “Sweating with a smile”, as she likes to have it. She enjoys the practice of Yin Yoga and guiding people on a journey through yin practice. Yin allows one to journey deeper into the true being and find the connection on a soul level through slow asana practice. She also teaches aerial yoga which resembles her playful side. As being a vegetarian for the past two decades Inka has a strong understating of yogic diet and nutrition.
In addition, she is a Personal Trainer (EuropeActive), with training skills in physiological, mental, and nutritional coaching. Inka has a Master’s Degree in International Marketing and she likes to combine her life coaching and teacher skills with business experience and act as a mentor for university students on their career and life choice challenges. Through the Yoga Teacher Training, she intends to hold space and guide people on their yogic paths towards transformation and deeper self-realization. Holding space for students on their path is a role that she takes very seriously but with a fun and caring attitude. “Yoga is a journey through yourself to yourself and every day the journey is different. Mindi Batson is a transformational specialist who has spent the last 15 years exploring the connections between soul, mind, and body. Born and raised in Southern Louisiana where music, food, and southern hospitality form a magical blend of culture, Mindi grew up singing soulful songs and playing a myriad of musical instruments. Deeply influenced by her roots and inspired by her early beginnings, Mindi travels the world driven by an insatiable passion to understand diverse cultures, languages, and customs with the mission to help share the empowerment tools she has learned through her self-healing journey. As an international yoga teacher trainer and yoga life coach, Mindi has trained hundreds of students and has been given the greatest gift to witness the metamorphosis of each soul that joins the circle of yoga teachers worldwide. Mindi is a gifted intuitive healer and yoga life coach who utilizes her gifts to help facilitate multidimensional healing for all students.
Mindi’s soul energy training includes specializations in Shamanic Journeying, Past Life Therapy, Transformational Enquiry, Angelic Reiki Levels 1 and 2, Mandala exploration, and Yoga Life Coaching. Mindi holds a Bachelors's and Master’s degree in Psychology and as part of her thesis explored the psychological effects of energy healing and movement for those with Traumatic Brain Injury. As a trained psychologist, Mindi uses her knowledge of the mind in combination with her soul energy training to transcend barriers and limitations that keep many stuck. Sharing from her own experience authentically and integrally, Mindi has an exceptional ability to shine a light on the deepest shadows to allow for personal transformation and empower each soul to take flight and soar. As an avid yoga practitioner, Mindi is influenced by many beautiful traditions and has devoted herself to a daily Ashtanga yoga practice as in the linage of Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois has created a sacred connection to the body. Mindi has lived and studied with her teacher Saraswati Jois in Mysore, India, and Budapest, Hungary. As a traveling yogi, Mindi has been inspired by many amazing teachers on the path that have instilled strength, discipline, and passion within her practice and personal life. Carolynn Vosburgh, a Canadian Registered Nurse/Medical Student turned Yoga Instructor, brings her unique flair of west meets east to a sometimes boring subject. After specializing for over 17 years in the Emergency Room, the current state of the medical system encouraged Colynn to leave her medical career and pursue a new one, one that would impact the health of the world more positively, teaching yoga. Her knowledge of the body, dis-ease, injury, prevention, and health, and her fun, easy-going nature combine to create an interactive, experiential and exciting class that offers the knowledge necessary to understand body mechanics, safely instructing students through asana practice, and yet bringing awareness to the philosophical and traditional healing methods and understanding the impact of self-related to physical health.
Carolynn has practiced yoga for over 19 years and chose to increase her knowledge of yoga by attending a teacher training over 5 years ago, which coincidently started at the same time her shortlist to medical school came through. It was apparent to her almost immediately that Medical School was not the answer to health care burnout, living her passion, supporting people in self-healing, and empowering women. Fresh out of yoga teacher training, Carolynn was asked to teach the anatomy portion of a YTT and it wasn’t long until Med School and nursing were histories. Carolynn has participated in over 14 YTTs as an anatomy instructor and has also co-facilitated her training. Carolynn has also been visiting Costa Rica for over 4 years, running several retreats and eventually making it one of her home bases, now that she lives the nomadic lifestyle.

World-traveling yogi, Ashley Davis (“Bad Ash”) tours the globe teaching yoga classes, hosting workshops, retreats, and teacher training, while experiencing the cuisine, music, and mindsets of myriad cultures. She has been dedicated to her yoga practice for nearly two decades on and off the mat, embodying the yoga lifestyle beyond asana. Ashley is also a surfer, surf instructor, voice-over artist, slackliner, and blogger. Ashley feels lucky to incorporate all her passions and life experience through yoga with practice, hard work, determination, and a positive attitude. She believes the journey is as forever the student, learning from the people she has the privilege to teach, with an open heart and open mind.
Her classes combine what feels good in the body and all influences she’s encountered: Hatha, Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, etc. Yoga’s transformative power inspires Ashley through mind, body, and soul; she believes it should be nurtured. Focusing on body awareness and a steady connection to breath and alignment, she brings fun and loving energy to her classes and guided meditations. Ashley is devoted to sharing and growing in her yoga practice, living life to the fullest, and laughing as much as possible. She also enjoys acro yoga, hiking, and skydiving. Javiera is a charismatic young yogi, who was introduced to yoga by her mother at a very young age. The movement, breathing, and shifting of energy through the body are what influenced Javi's decision to study and work in the field of Physiotherapists. Born in Chile, Javi has traveled far and wide. She completed her Teacher Training Course in Canggu; Bali, and since wholeheartedly embraced the yoga practice as a way of life. Her classes encourage students to find a deeper connection to their breath, their innermost selves, and the present moment. She believes in helping students acknowledge their limitations and you will fall in love with her smile and her passion for life.
