Since Sewall House opened in 1997, they especially seem to be a good choice for people going through some sort of change in their life, whether it be work-related, relationship or health-related.People also choose to come here because they are in Maine in a uniquely inviting historic home. Their guests have also shared that the smaller number of attendees feels less like a "university" compared to some of the larger yoga retreats.
Each guest has their own bedroom, not dorms or shared rooms here (except couples, family and friends). The house is in the Natural Historic Registry and has been freshened while keeping the feeling of a simpler time.A wrap-around porch invites you to watch the activities of the town, the rivers winding through town offer scenic walks and the surrounding area has acclaimed hikes and lakes, including Baxter State Park and Mount Katahdin.Perfect for kayaking, which we do a lot, hiking, biking or simply relaxing in one of our hammocks to read a book or look at the sky.
